The ISSF Media team has held two media webinars with Member Federations to inform stakeholders about their future strategy and present evidence of a successful 2024 season.
Led by Media Manager Nick Davies and supported by Digital Officer Andreas Georgiou and head of Media Relations and Operations Juliana Daguano, the webinars welcomed approximately 40 people.
During the presentation, the ISSF Media team briefly reviewed the achievements made during 2024, including an overview of the media success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which saw shooting sport go viral on social media.
Highlights included an athlete-focused approach to communications with better ties to the Athletes Committee, improving relations with international media and a surge in traffic during the Olympic Games on ISSF channels, not associated with Olympic live footage.
The Media and Communication Strategy for 2025 and 2026 was then introduced, showing the next steps for the department.
Key targets include showing the sport is accessible, improved coverage of international events, improve the television product and support the sport's efforts in esports.
Closer relations with Member Federations was also encouraged and the offer of media training for athletes.
Discussion between attendees and the team was then encouraged as the department look to improve cooperation between the parties.
There are plans to host another webinar in the first half of 2025.
