A breakdown of ISSF Athlete of the Year voting

Methodology shown for how ISSF Athlete of the Year was selected this year.

The ISSF has revealed the full results of the ISSF Athlete of the Year 2024 award. 

Members of the ISSF Athletes' Committee, Coach Committee and ISSF media representatives working on the sport throughout the season were invited to vote for the ISSF Athlete of the Year 2024, taking into account all achievements from this season.

Liu Yukun from China and Yang Ji-in from Korea were crowned the winners, with both victorious at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and elsewhere.

Those who voted were invited to select their top five athletes from men's and women's competition. Their number one choice would receive five points. Second would receive four, all the way down to fifth receiving one point.

The top six athletes in each category made the shortlist, with the winners being announced at the ISSF World Cup Final in New Delhi, India.
