Dozens pass judges course in China

The Chinese Shooting Association has organised an ISSF B Licence Judges course in Chengdu, China, leading to several participants receiving passes.

Held from 7th to 11th April, it was oversaw by ISSF Technical Committee member Paul Gumn, ISSF Rifle Committee Chairman David Goodfellow and Huang Lan, member of the ISSF Judges Committee.

A total of 40 students attended the Chengdu Archery and Shooting Centre, with 25 women and 15 men - of which there were a high ratio of young people - taking part. With these courses being held in English, students spent five days of presentations and completing two tests to achieve passes, given to those who receive a mark of at least 82%.

These participants had an impressive pass rate of 50% in rifle and 68% in pistol disciplines despite learning in a non-native language. A total of 32 students passed at least one course, ensuring a licence in that discipline.

The next to take place in Chengdu will be the Electronic Scoring Target Judges Course in June.

The Course Instructors would like to congratulate all the support staff for the excellent organisation they provided, ensuring the success of the course.
