The ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Nicosia, Cyprus is underway following the Opening Ceremony at the Cyprus Olympic Shooting Range.
Greetings were delivered by the President of the Cyprus Shooting Sport Federation (CSSF) Lenos Kyriakou, as well as Cyprus Sports Organisation Board member Alkis Galatopoulos and Cyprus National Olympic Committee secretary general Yiotis Ioannides.
During speeches there was thanks to the CSSF and praise for their work and experience in hosting. Appreciation was also shown for the Organising Committee and the ISSF for their support and athletes were wished the best of luck.
Those in attendance included Mayor of Latsia-Yeri, Christos Pittaras, Theofanis Pittaras, member of the Municipal Council and President of the Nicosia Shooting Club, Charalambos Psimolophitis.
Technical Delegate Bodo Gisske, officially opened the latest ISSF World Cup competition.
Competition will run from 5th to 11th of March, with finals beginning on the 7th of March.
In total, there are 350 athletes entered from 54 National Federations.
