Fresh off representing their country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games last year, Manon Herbulot and Romain Aufrere won the gold in the mixed team air rifle final, at the European Junior 10m Championship in Osijek, Croatia.
Seventeen-year-old Herbulot teamed up with 20-year-old Aufrere again after the pair placed ninth at the Olympics in this event.
In the final, they met Theresa Schnell and Florian Beer of Germany. With the scores close at 9-7, France pulled away by winning three of the next four rounds, with the score finishing 16-8.
Bronze went to Norway's World Junior Championships medallists Pernille Nor-Woll and Jens Olsrud Oestli, who defeated Serbian siblings Iva and Aleksa Rakonjac 17-9.
In the women's 10m air pistol final, Ilayda Nur Curuk of Turkey won the gold medal, holding onto the lead for the majority of the elimination stage. Only Poland's Weronika Krajewska was able to overtake Curuk, but she would ultimately finish fourth after two awry shots in her last four.
That left the door open for Curuk to retake the lead, while Aliaksandra Piatrova moved into second. Curuk finished the competition with a total of 235.0 to Piatrova's 233.2. Mariam Abramishvili from Georgia was the bronze medallist.
Finally, Mikalai Yakuta won the men's air pistol final, excelling in the elimination stage. He edged ahead of Ukraine's Maksym Himon and Turkey's Adnan Efe Ucar after the first elimination shots and remained consistent throughout to end with a score of 240.4 to Himon's 238.3. Luca Joldea from Romania took bronze ahead of Ucar.
